Updating Your Nexus 5 to Android 5.0 Lollipop in 2 Minutes

We’re going to use a tool that’s called Flash 5.0 N5, which will help us update our device to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. This tool was created by a XDA member that goes by the nickname Julian_os and it will take you around 2 minutes to finish installing the new OS on your device. It is good to know that this is the official firmware update that was released by Google and it is NOT the beta release.

Requirements

In case your device is not booting or it is getting to the boot loop mode, make sure that the device’s battery is charged enough to hold your smartphone alive for at least one hour. In case your device is working just fine, make sure that it has at least 50% of battery. Also make sure that your computer has access to writing and reading.

Keep in mind that all the data from your smartphone will be lost. In case your device is running, then you should manually backup all your important data such as call logs, contacts, videos, songs and pictures to your PC.

Installing Android 5.0 Lollipop on Nexus 5 in 2 minutes

First of all, download the Flash 5.0 N5 Tool from XDA developers’ website to your PC and install it. After that, connect your Nexus 5 to your computer and follow the instructions to update your smartphone to Android 5.0.

After the device is updated to the latest Android OS, you can check the version by going to Settings->About Phone and you will notice that your device runs on Android 5.0. It will take around 2-5 minutes to apply the update on your device so make sure that during this time you don’t disconnect the device from your PC.
