Google has finally launched their Android 5.0 Lollipop, which comes with new design and user interface that most of the tablet owners already enjoy. However, even if the new OS has a complete overhauled platform, it seems that it also comes with some issues on the Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 10.
It seems that large screen tablets still have some issues with the Android 5.0 Lollipop, while the smaller screens have fewer problems while running the latest Android OS. However, the small screen tablets were not removed from the market as they satisfy certain groups of people, which is the same case for bigger screen size tablets such as Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. So, even if Google worked hard to bring a new layout and design to its Android 5.0, it seems that it’s not working so well on Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 10.
Nexus 7 (2013) video playback issue on Android 5.0 Lollipop
As you already know, whenever a new OS is getting released, it always comes with some errors and problems that are eventually fixed in future updates. It seems that some users have experienced quite a few problems while watching some videos. At the same time, some users cannot find the video player and the system cannot find it. However, you can fix this by going to developer’s options menu and switch to “NuPlayer”.
Nexus 10 Lollipop Dilemma
Nexus 10 comes with a great UI interface seen on the mobile phones. Both the components and the buttons arranged in the new UI are placed in the center of the screen. This allows a 10inch tablet to offer the same experience like a 7inch tablet does. As you already know, the previous interface used to place the components by the edge of the screen, where the user’s thumbs could easily access them.
Before, the users could swipe down the left screen side to view notification and the right side for notifications. On Lollipop, these menus are somehow combined and positioned on the right side of the screen. However, the problem with the new OS is how the application appears when you are in landscape mode on a large screen sized device. This issue will most likely get fixed in the upcoming updates of Android Lollipop.
